www.facebook.com TRAINING ZONES Healthy Heart Zone (Warm up) — 50 – 60% of maximum heart rate: The easiest zone and probably the best zone for people just starting a fitness program. It can also be used as a warm up for more serious walkers. This zone has been shown to help decrease body fat, blood pressure and cholesterol. It also decreases the risk of degenerative diseases and has a low risk of injury. 85% of calories burned in this zone are fats! Fitness Zone (Fat Burning) — 60 – 70% of maximum heart rate: This zone provides the same benefits as the healthy heart zone, but is more intense and burns more total calories. The percent of fat calories is still 85%. Aerobic Zone (Endurance Training) — 70 – 80% of maximum heart rate: The aerobic zone will improve your cardiovascular and respiratory system AND increase the size and strength of your heart. This is the preferred zone if you are training for an endurance event. More calories are burned with 50% from fat. Anaerobic Zone (Performance Training) — 80 – 90% of maximum heart rate: Benefits of this zone include an improved VO2 maximum (the highest amount of oxygen one can consume during exercise) and thus an improved cardiorespiratory system, and a higher lactate tolerance ability which means your endurance will improve and you’ll be able to fight fatigue better. This is a high intensity zone burning more calories, 15 % from fat. Red Line (Maximum Effort) — 90 – 100% of maximum heart rate: Although this zone

www.facebook.com In this StreamFIT Minute, fitness bootcamp and metabolic training expert BJ Gaddour shows you how to elevate your heart rate and save your joints with this killer low-impact cardio exercise. Try this killer 9-minute high-octate home cardio workout you can do anywhere, anytime! Here’s how it works: – Alternate between 60 seconds of work and 30 seconds of rest – Perform the Ground Zero Jump progression demonstrated in the video below – Perform 6 total rounds for a 9-minute workout The ground zero jump is possibly my favorite equipment-free cardio move because: 1.) It works your whole body and crushes calories like few moves can 2.) It’s allows for fast, explosive muscular contractions which is proven to create a greater metabolic disturbance and lead to greater increases in heart rate 3.) It’s very a low-impact plyometric exercises and will spare your joints compared to other running and jumping moves 4.) It really works your hips and core unlike traditional cardio exercises like running on the treadmill and plodding along on the elliptical which is more knee-dominant stressing your quads more than your glutes 5.) You can instantly make it harder or easier as shown in the video to customize your exercise intensity StreamFIT provides unlimited streaming follow-along workouts from the top trainers in the game accessible anytime, anywhere. New Weigh-In At Last! (Jan. 24, 2012)

Progress is his middle name! My heart rate actually topped out at 162, which is the first time I’ve been well into the “athletic conditioning” range for my age, at least according to the little “chart” thing on the treadmill. Never seen it get that high before.

I give this product a good review. For more info go to thegoodmanreport.com

STUPID & SMART EXERCISE: INTROdougTION

Let me fan the flame with some of my favorite provable truths. Yes, in my humble yet accurate and substantiatable opinion, the following statements are true • Flexibility is the least important component of fitness. • Dieting is one of the primary causes of obesity in America. • Losing weight actually decreases your body’s metabolic rate. • The activity which burns the highest percentage of fat is sleep. • The “Cardio Zone” burns more fat than the “Fat-Burning Zone.” • Stretching is a very dangerous form of warming up before exercise. • To gain muscle, you should stop lifting weights and work out less often. • Increasing aerobic exercise is associated with a decrease in metabolic rate. • Heart rate is, for many individuals, one of the worst indicators of exercise intensity. • High protein diets are often the cause of many of the major health-related problems in America. • Gaining weight initially is a very important indication that your exercise program is working as planned. • Aerobic exercise classes are much less aerobic than other aerobic activities

Pulse training – running?

Hey.

So I got myself a pulse watch and have used it for 2 days now.
I’ve read that it might be dangerous to measure the maximum pulse if the person isn’t fit so I used the "equation" to calculate it, or rather I let my watch do it by entering age, etc.

I’m starting out slowly, read that a suggestion for starters is to spend 30 min and split it into 10 min in zone 1, 10 min in zone 2 and 10 min in zone 3.

It’s working ok but it’s feeling pretty easy, I don’t really get tired and I’m mostly walking or jogging very slow to keep my pulse within those zones. I think it’s smart to start out slow and easy but I’m thinking this might be a little bit too easy, I don’t know. After 30 min with my custom workout which is based on the 30 min in zone 1, 2 and 3 I have reached about 2-3 km. I’ve been doing twice the workout today and yesterday now (4 times in total).

As for experience, I am unfit but not fat or so. Just haven’t really exercised for some time, and have never exercised for a longer period of time before.

As for the heart rate, I know it’s individual but approximately, how long does it take to progress?
To get further in the same time without having to get up the heart rate very much.

Any advice? What do you think?
I’m 20 years old by the way.

The formula I have presented in this video is ideal for a person who is trying to lose weight exercising, or for those who are starting to exercise regularly but there are other formulas such as the Karbonen formula, suggested for sports people
