www.CoachU2Health.com I never start a workout without one and if you don’t own one run to the store and get one NOW! I perfer the heart monitor that tracks calories.

Rapid heart beat?????

Sometimes, while I’m sitting around doing absolutely nothing, my heart starts going insane. It’ll start beating abnormally fast for about a minute (it feels like theres bubbling in my chest), and then slow down right away. But after that, I’m aware of my heart beat in my ears and neck for the next 30 minutes, and my breathing rate starts to increase. I have to continuously take in deep breaths in order to feel at ease again. I also start feeling extremely hot and almost break a sweat.

This happens at very random times. When I’m sitting around watching TV, studying, after I shower, and right before I’m about to fall asleep. Sometimes, after I climb one flight of stairs, I breathe so heavily it feels like I’ve ran a mile and my heart goes insane a little longer than "normal".

This has been going on for about 4 years, but in the beginning, it only happened about once a month, so I never was too worried. I always attributed it to stress or caffeine. However, in this past week, it’s happened about 3 times. And although I had exams, I never felt any anxiety or an abnormal amount of stress. And I’m not a huge coffee drinker either.

I’m wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else, and if I should be worried about anything. Here is the basic breakdown of what has been happening:

Random rapid heartbeat/tachycardia (Normally, by heart rate is around 80 bpm. During these episodes, it goes >120 bpm)
Shortness of breath associated with the heartbeat
Pulse awareness in ears, neck, chest (I assume that would be something related to blood pressure)

I’m a 20 year old female, 5’5, 125 lbs. I eat as healthy as I can and try to exercise as often as possible. (For the past week, I haven’t done much exercise because I’m a bit scared my heart will go even more insane than it has been)

I will be a seeing a doctor on Monday. I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with what I’m dealing with, so that I can go into the doctor’s office a little more informed than just saying, "Uh…my heart randomly goes crazy." Haha. Thanks for your help I appreciate it.

Heart Rate Monitor?

I want to buy a heart rate monitor, but I dont want a polar, so lets forget about them. I pretty much just need one that counts calories, and cost less than 0. And it has to be one that takes your heartbeat the whole time you wear it, not the ones you have to put your fingers on. Anyone know of any?
I was just looking at a sportline, it was a touch hrm, and it said it counts calories burned. Do you have to hold your fingers on it the whole time your working out, or do you just put your fingers on it at the end of your workout and it somehow knows how many calories you burned.
I dont like polar because you have to send it in to get new batteries. Thats ridiculous.

I’m a 187lb 5′ 6" and 39 year old male. I recently started P90X, i have not worked out for a couple of years. I bought a heart rate monitor and I have noticed that my heart rate gets up to 170 bpm really quick and my resting heart rate stays above 100 bpm for a few hours after exercise. I feel fine but the the high resting heart rate concerns me. In the morning my resting heart rate is 68-75 bpm. I have had high blood pressure for a few years now and I know that a good diet and Cardio is the best way to bring the high bp down.. Should i be concerned or is it that im out of shape and my recovery heart rate is just going to get better?

I want to get a heart rate monitor that also shows calories burned. I found this one online, but was skeptical because it doesn’t use a chest strap. I don’t want a chest strap, so this seemed perfect. I just want to get some feedback before purchasing.

I got a garmin forerunner 50 wrist watch that records my heart rate, speed, cadence, calories, time and distance ran. I have about 6 workout sessions of data downloaded to my computer.

What do I do with the data? I am a new runner and I don’t know how to analyze the data to help me.

Yeah, i know max heart rates, and to exercise in the 60% to 80% percent zone.

Is their some type of software that can analyze this data and give me suggestions on how to improve my workouts?
Anyone have any insight?

What is the best way to decrease fatigueness?

Im 27 years old, and Im a very active athlete and do alot of sports during the week (1 hour of jogging 2 to 3 times per week, and playing 2 hours of basketball 2 to 3 times per week). My resting heart rate is currently 55, and my VO2 Max is 62 (According to Polar F11 Heart rate monitor). Now whenever I play Basketball I find myself totally fit for the first 20 to 30 minutes and able to play at a very intensive level, but then after that I just become totally fatigued and find it very difficult to catch my breath. How come this happens when the above figures is supposed to be very good?

Any tips to improve my fitness level will be much appreciated as well, thanks!

21 year old male. Getting back into running after 2 years of partying and being hard on my body. Went to the cardiologist to have a complete checkup and got a normal report.

I am 6’1 and 170 pounds. In my second week of training now. Ran 3.25 miles today in 30 minutes and wore a heart monitor. My heart rate was at 171 at the end of 30 minutes. Is this normal..ok…and healthy?

After the run…my heart rate was at 120… 5 minutes after stopping. Then my heart rate lingered around 100 for the next 20-30 minutes before sticking around my normal daily heart rate of about 80. Does everything sound ok? Will these numbers improve? Should I be concerned at all?

Everthing I’ve seen so far has the strap that goes around your chest. I don’t like that it seems restrictive to breathing, and I read that it shifts around when they kick too hard off the wall. But I also want to improve my laptimes. Are there any Heart-Rate monitors (HRMs) that count calories that you can wear on your wrist only? Any alternatives to the chest strap?

I am looking to buy the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor and want to know who has the best price for the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor?
Thanks

I just purchased a watch/monitor to keep track of my calories burned while exercising. I am 5’4 and 220 pounds, female, and 20 yrs old. According to many online calculators and my watch, there are big differences. I just did a high impact aerobics course and my watch was like 250 calories off! How can this watch really know what I am burning if its doesn’t allow me to program my weight/age/height/gender?
