I have a HRM and an exercise bike. The HRM does not ask for any of my personal information and the exercise bike only asks for my age. Which is more accurate when delivering calories burned results? How about for equipment at the gym that takes into account weight and age, is the HRM that asks for nothing more accurate than the equipment?

Is the Polar F55BR any good? What kind of features are must have/nice to have? I don’t need to pay 0, but will if it is worth it. I am not an athlete, but just a regular guy that wants to monitor heart rate, calories burned, etc. There may be features out there I don’t know about that I would like or want. Any help is appreciated!

i was wondering why it is important?

TIMEX Race Trainer HRM

Produced & Edited by www.daveerickson360.com. Contact DE360 for your next video project, email: dave@daveerickson360.com Took a casual 6 mile run Friday afternoon wearing my new TIMEX Ironman Race Trainer with Heart Rate Monitor. While I’m happy with this product I’m counting the days until the Ironman Global Trainer becomes available. REI stores will have it in May 2010. The Global Trainer has GPS capabilities and can calculate speed, pace and distance all in a four-window display. Other features include 50m water resistance, ANT+ compatibility, advanced online training log software and a re-chargeable battery.

I usually swim, cycle or mountain bike. I go pretty hard, almost always, and i’m confident I am at least above what my target heart rate should be. Should I try to stay in the recommended range though or? This watch on amazon was going real cheap so I was considering buying it.

Body Bugg vs. Heart Rate Monitor

This is a review of tools I use to track my daily cardio and physical activity. Body Bugg vs. Heart Rate Monitor

Since the summer has almost arrived i plan on swimming everyday. I know that there are watches out there that monitor calories burned and your heart rate while you are exercising but is there any inexpensive watch that is good for swimmers? The watches that i have found require you wear a chest strap so i didn’t know if there was an alternative route out there. Please help!

I just bought my HRM after Christmas and have really enjoyed it. However, I have often wondered about the accuracy of the calories burned. I can’t really find any information on the web about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brother was a cross country/track athlete and has a bunch of trophies/medals and he never used a heart rate monitor. His best time in 3 miles back in highschool was 16 mins, he won first place in regionals that one time. I dont know what grade he was in at the time.

I’m hoping to find a watch that will measure three things while I’m jogging, my heart rate, my speed, and my distance traveled. I’ve found watches that monitor heart rate, and I’ve found ones that will track speed and distance, but not one that does all three. Any recommendations?

What is good cardio?

What is “good cardio”? Thats of the most frequent questions I get asked. People are always asking if some specific machine or activity is good cardio or not. Before we go into what IS good cardio, lets review WHY cardio is so important •#1 lose fat! – want 6-pack abs? Only way is to lose fat thru cardio and nutrition. •#2 Cardio can improve your mood and significantly reduce depression. Its been prooven by study after study, cardio can make you happier! •#3 Perform better at school or work! Daily cardio reduces mental fatigue and gives you more energy. A recent study from the U of G showed that daily cardio reduces fatigue by 65%! •#4 Tons of other health reasons – oreduce risk of heart disease oreduce blood pressure oreduce risk of diabetes olive longer – 2hrs longer for every 1hr of exercise You’ve heard me say this before and I will repeat it again – cardio is much more important than lifting weights and if you only have 20min a day for fitness, you should spend the whole time doing cardio. Its clear that there is a lot of confusion about cardio, its really quite simple. In this video I’m going to tell you how to know what is good cardio and how to tell at a glance if a piece of cardio equipment is good or not. Lets start with the basics. The purpose of cardio is to elevate your heart rate and keep it target zone for at least 20 minutes. How elevated does your heart rate need to be? Depends on your goal, your age, and your health.
